Identifying Proprioception
The “mysterious” sense
There are various ways to stimulate the motor system:
- symmetrical bilateral movements
- reciprocal unilateral
- reciprocal bilateral movements.
Any of the above movements give a strong stimulation to several senses especially the tactile, proprioceptive, and vestibular, which are the foundation for vision and movement.
One can therefore facilitate reciprocal interweaving through purposeful bilateral motor movements. This can help establish more appropriate bilateral visual processing.
I will present the importance of integration of proprioception with inputs from other senses such as vision, vestibular and touch.
